Modular Seating System for 2010-2019 Can-Am Spyder RT
A variety of components designed to provide custom looks and big comfort gains for the Spyder RT. Choose just the parts that suit your needs and riding preferences:
Dual Touring Saddle: The most generously sculpted seating this side of your living room sofa and a whole new level of ergonomically designed perfection. Wide, sculpted seating positions create a larger area of contact for excellent weight distribution. Shaped like your body to eliminate pressure points and give long lasting support that will keep you in the saddle all day.
Corbin's rigid fibertech basepan provides a perfect fit and is built low to hug the frame. This allowed us to create a foam shape that keeps you in the sweet spot which provides a feeling of increased integration with the bike and more positive feeling of control. Deep, supportive bucket design gives five inches of vertical support (or 18" with #02-T backrest installed). All of this adds up to a very relaxed posture and comfortable ride.
For added convenience we've built a door into the nose of the saddle for fueling. This provides much easier access at gas stations and allows your passenger or dufflebag to stay in place on the bike. Door is made from molded ABS with a leather pattern to visually integrate with the seat. Saddle is also available with the option of electric seat heaters for an added bit of luxury. Corbin seat heaters are controlled via conveniently located switches along each seating position while temperature is maintained automatically by integrated controller. You just wire in the Corbin supplied pigtail and enjoy the warmth on those chilly morning rides.
Rider's Backrests: Rider's seating area is designed to work with an optional Corbin backrest for added comfort and support. All Corbin backrest models are fully adjustable to fit a wide variety of statures and riding postures. Internal hardware keeps a clean look and allows the backrest to fold down to ease mounting the bike. This unique hardware also allows fore - aft position adjustment of the backrest without removing the saddle from the bike.
The Corbin saddle works with a variety of backrest models to suit your taste and needs. Shown above primarily with our Ovalbac T-Rest (model #02-T) which we've been hearing that most riders prefer . It looks appropriate given the size of the bike and saddle, provides excellent passenger leg clearance and also gives more square inches of rider support. It's hard to beat a combination like that! If you are looking for something smaller, try the #02-SB Standard model which still provides excellent support of 9" tall x 11" wide.
Trunkrest: Above we show our trunkrest installed that provides maximum passenger support. Sculpted design gives a large contact patch and excellent support with more seating room in the passenger area. Our trunkrest is contructed of the same high quality materials as the saddle for good support and integrated looks. Sculpted shaping provides a very relaxed and supportive ride for your passenger.
Trunk Armrests: The latest addition to the Corbin modular lineup. These armrests give your passenger a usable area to rest their elbows where their arms fall naturally at their sides. Generously sized and shaped to allow for a wide range of statures. Corbin armrests angle outward to facilitate getting in and out of the passenger seat. Naturally, our armrests are covered in the same materials as your Corbin saddle for a totally integrated look. In the right side armrest, we have built in a mounting point for future developments (note the three chrome bolts).
Note: Corbin's armrests will work with the stock or Corbin trunkrest. Installation of the armrests is a significant project that requires much of the trunk area to be disassembled. This is not a difficult procedure, nor does it require special tools... but it does require some time and quite a bit of assembly / disassembly.
We now offer a cup holder molded specially for the Corbin armrests. Bolts on easily and fits a wide range of cup / bottle sizes. Vacuum formed with leather texture ABS to blend in nicely and withstand the elements.
ALL Components: Our exclusive Comfort Cell foam provides firm support that stays resilient indefinitely. We cast this special Closed Cell material nearly twice as firm as the stock foam to support your body weight. Soft foam allows your body to fall through it the longer you sit on it... once compressed, soft foam offers no resilience and you start to experience discomfort. That's why we always say "firm is a good thing!"
On the outside we include genuine leather seating inserts for total luxury. For a very classy and subtle touch we recommend our standard natural grain leather seating with Asphalt vinyl sides and spiderweb stitching. We prefer leather seating because it is durable, will breathe with your body and adapt with the foam shape as it breaks in. Vinyl side panels help to support the foam shape and keep the cover looking nice longer. A wide variety of color and texture options are available by special order at no additional charge.
Saddle provides simple installation that integrates with the Can-Am lock system. Brackets come preinstalled on the saddle so it's ready to go right out of the box. If you opt for electric heat, we include a wiring pigtail for the bike and preinstall all other components on the saddle.
