Fire & Ice Saddles

Corbin heating and cooling technology for your motorcycle

Another Corb-innovation! Fire & Ice brings both heating and cooling to a motorcycle saddle. Corbin pioneered heated motorcycle seating, and this system adds welcome relief for your burnin’ bum during the summer. Like our other innovations, it’s designed to be self-contained in the saddle, with straightforward installation.

How Fire & Ice Works

Ever hear of the Peltier effect? That’s the principle behind Fire & Ice. With a couple of fans and some clever engineering, we can provide both heating and cooling without pumps, compressors or fluids. The system is designed into the saddle from the ground up.

See the Difference

We couldn't resist experimenting with a thermal imaging camera. These two grayscale images were captured just seven minutes apart, first in cooling mode and then in heating mode. In these images, dark means cold and white means hot. The side-by-side images show the difference.

Performance & Installation

Corbin Fire & Ice saddle system

Cooling performance depends on ambient temperature. In one demonstration, a 74°F room produced a seating surface temperature of 63°F after just a few minutes. In continued Corbin testing, the system cooled the surface approximately 10–15°F below ambient. On the heating side, the thermostat is set to top out at approximately 110°F.

The heating and cooling components are built into the saddle. Installation requires a 12-volt power connection, and we provide a pigtail designed to integrate with the factory fusebox. Detailed instructions are included with each specific saddle model.

Because the cooling system is engineered into the seat from the beginning, it cannot be retrofitted into an existing heated Corbin saddle.

More Motorcycles, More Possibilities

We're continuing to explore Fire & Ice applications for additional motorcycles. Have a bike that deserves the treatment? We'd love to hear about it.

*We believe Corbin introduced the first production motorcycle saddle with both heating and cooling, although we haven't searched every corner of the world to verify it. Tony Stark may still have something cooking in his workshop.
