| As impressive as the muscular Triumph is to ride, we've heard the following statement about riding it... "It's like riding a log". The metaphor is a little unclear, but we're pretty sure that it wasn't meant as a compliment towards its accommodations. Naturally, this was a call to action for the Corbin R&D team and the saddle you see here is the first model of three we'll have available for your Rocket III. Designed as a solo option for your bike, the Fast Gun gives a very cool look and a huge comfort improvement.
First, notice the large area of back support designed into this model... six and a half inches to be exact. From there, the Fast Gun is shaped to fit the contours of the human body and provide a larger area of body contact. This disperses your weight over a greater area and takes away the centralized pressure on your tailbone generated by the stock tush cushion. This is what we commonly refer to as "Ergonomic design" and it is what separates the Corbin saddle from the imitators.
Naturally, it is built up with our exclusive Comfort Cell foam for firm support that lasts all day. You may think it feels hard when you first sit on it, but you'll agree that "firm is a good thing" when you're down the road a few miles. Additionally, our specialized foam material is designed to break in over time and actually take on your shape to give you a personalized fit. Rider's bucket is sculpted to maximize the seat width to support body weight from the outside in a more comfortable manner.
Comfort is only half the story. Corbin has long been a master of mating form to function and the Fast Gun saddle will not disappoint. We've taken our lines from the design of the Triumph itself for a visually integrated look. Notice how the tail section is shaped like the rear fender tip itself and the sides mold along the fender rails and over the shocks. A perfect fit with a killer look!
Taking one look at the latest Triumph tells us that you Rocketeers aren't exactly a subtle breed. With that in mind we offer a range of leather options for your saddle's cover for a truly custom look. Here we've done it up with our Faux-alligator leather seating with faux-ostrich side panels and black faux-snakeskin tail. If you're looking for something a bit more stealthy we could, of course, make your saddle in all plain black.
Leather provides an excellent seating material for motorcycle seats as it breathes with your body and is naturally durable. Over time, the leather cover will adapt with the foam shape and support the personalized fit provided by the Comfort Cell foam. As a natural material, it will weather and age just like your leather jacket and take on its own unique character. Just be sure to care for it properly with a quality conditioner like our Saddle Cream. This will help it withstand the elements and age gracefully.
Our eternal gratitude to Rocketeers David & Steve for the loan of their bikes and patience while we worked on 'em!
Test Rider Impression
Stock Seat: "... Typical of many stock seats, the Rocket III's piece has a lot of central pressure, which you feel in your tailbone. After about ten minutes this became very noticeable. It offered no lateral support or thigh support which aggravated the situation further. Thick and spongy, I felt like I was sitting very high."
Corbin Seat: "... Although there isn't a huge difference in seat height, you really feel like you're sitting a lot lower and are more integrated into the bike. The large area of back support makes a great bump pad to keep you in place under acceleration. Tailbone pressure is gone and the Fast Gun offers a lot more support across your entire body and under your thighs. ... Without the spongy stock seat, you get a much better feel for the road and the bike's suspension. "

ERGONOMIC SHAPING: A major part of the design criteria of the Corbin saddle is the Ergonomic shape. This means the saddle's foam shape is designed to emulate the curves of the human body. This provides more square inches of body contact and helps to eliminate hot spots. This shaping also neutralizes the seating platform to help curb sliding in the saddle which reduces fatigue. In a nutshell... more comfort for a longer ride! Just click the button at left for an animation that shows how it works. |

PATENTED MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY: Always an innovator, Mike Corbin invented Integrated Molding technology which is now the process by which all Corbin saddles are made. This process allows extremely tight tolerances and creates a chemical bond between the foam and base material. To see what this is all about, just click the button for More Info |

 | Installation: Corbin's Fast Gun saddle is designed to mount easily on your Triumph just like stock. Nose tongue and latch pin are included and come pre installed on the saddle for immediate use. |
 |
 | Notice we do not use a snorkel over the airbox and instead let the bike pull air from the entire under seat area. Since the Corbin saddle rides on rubber bumpers and features a rigid basepan, there is no hazard of restriction to the airbox. |
 |
 | To ease installation until the rubber bumpers on the basepan break in, it may be necessary to add a couple washers between the Corbin basepan and latch pin. |
 |
 | We recommend removing the seat from the bike when washing. In the case of the Rocket III, remember to cover your airbox when doing this to stop water from getting in! |
