Yamaha finally decided to bring the new FJR stateside! We begged, pleaded and downright grovelled for this bike and now it's finally here. What a great piece of work it is too, but what sport touring bike is complete without a Corbin saddle? If you want to realize the full potential of your FJ, then this is the setup for you.
We've created a saddle design with generously sculpted seating platforms that conform to the shape of your body and provides for long range passengers too. This sculpted shaping gives more square inches of body contact area which, in turn, distributes your weight better. Naturally we've constructed the seat with our exclusive Comfort Cell® foam that will provide firm support mile after mile. Our unique foam material supports your weight better and breaks in to take on a personalized shape.
Our saddle includes built in hardware for a passenger backrest to add more passenger comfort. We make several backrest styles to choose from and you can find our more about them here. We recommend using the #02-S model backrest as shown above. Corbin's backrest is fully adjustable to provide a tailored fit to passenger's riding posture. Installation of the backrest is simple with a single lock screw going into your Corbin saddle from beneath. To really make your saddle combo look spectacular, you can choose from several backing plate options. We have a coordinating Carbon-Fiber look or can even supply one painted to match your factory paint for just a little more. Note: Backrest does not work with Yamaha trunk installed.
We now offer two models of the Canyon Dual Sport saddle for your FJR. Our standard version shown at the top of this page and a new "Close" version that provides seating closer to the bars and a slightly lower seat height. This is the perfect solution for riders that may have reach issues on this fairly large motorcycle. In order to assist you in making a choice between the two models, we've provided this handy-dandy comparison of the two. Check out where you sit on your bike with the stock seat in place and that will give you an idea of where you would prefer the seating bucket on the Corbin model. Keep in mind, if you are in the range to use either model, you may actually prefer the standard design as it gives you the ability to slide fore and aft in the saddle for more aggressive riding whereas the close model won't allow you to slide rearward. Just give us a holler if you'd like some help making a decision.
Canyon Dual Sport saddles and backrest include genuine leather seating in your choice of colors and styles. Leather seating breathes with your body to provide a more luxurious ride and will break in along with the foam shape to conform to your personalized fit. In the saddle shown here we used our Carbon-Fiber leather seating with coordinating Carbon-Fiber look vinyl side panels (using vinyl in the sides helps to support the foam shape and keep the saddle looking sharp.) For a custom touch we added a Ghost grey welt. Don't forget to take good care of your leather with a quality conditioner like our Saddle Cream. Your Corbin saddle will be your riding buddy for years.
Our single piece Canyon Dual Sport saddles install on your bike like stock in place of the two-piece OEM unit. This provides more seating room for you and your passenger while fitting perfectly to your tank and tail section. Corbin's rigid Fibertech baseplate supports the foam shape and keeps the carefully engineered ergonomics intact. Mounting bracket comes pre-installed on the saddle for easy installation (see below).
Corbin's Canyon Dual Sport saddle is also available with the option of electric heat! This is the ultimate luxury for those chilly morning rides. Our heater is completely built into the saddle and includes a wiring pigtail that integrates with your Yamaha wiring. Installation is simple with complete instructions included. Temperature is controlled with an integrated thermostat that manages the heat automatically. Just flip the conveniently located switch and keep on rolling.

ERGONOMIC SHAPING: A major part of the design criteria of the Corbin saddle is the Ergonomic shape. This means the saddle's foam shape is designed to emulate the curves of the human body. This provides more square inches of body contact and helps to eliminate hot spots. This shaping also neutralizes the seating platform to help curb sliding in the saddle which reduces fatigue. In a nutshell... more comfort for a longer ride! Just click the button at left for an animation that shows how it works.
PATENTED MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY: Always an innovator, Mike Corbin invented Integrated Molding technology which is now the process by which all Corbin saddles are made. This process allows extremely tight tolerances and creates a chemical bond between the foam and base material. To see what this is all about, just click the button for More Info
GENUINE LEATHER: We use leather in all panels of the seat that contact your body. This provides a luxurious ride that breathes with your body. Leather will also break in along with the foam shape to support the personalized fit. Available in a wide range of textures and styles to suit your taste. For more information about leather seating just click away.
FIBERTECH™ BASEPAN: A purpose built, hybrid material that provides a firm foundation to support the carefully designed ergonomics of the Corbin saddle. Provides a precision fit to every arc and contour of the machine and rides on rubber bumpers to protect your paint. Click on the button at left to learn more...
CORBIN BACKREST SYSTEM: The first and most versatile removable backrest system available for motorcycles! Corbin's backrests provide added vertical back support and long range comfort. ELECTRIC HEAT: As an option we can include electric heat in this saddle! This option provides a true bit of luxury for when the temperature starts to drop. Simple to install with major components pre-built into the saddle. Just wire in the included pigtail and you're ready to roll. Click the button at left for complete info...

Installation: Mounting the saddle is simple and we even include the bracket. Slip the rear of your saddle under the luggage rack as far as possible, then lower the nose into position. Slide the seat forward around the tank and push down on the seat to latch. Your saddle now latches on your stock key-lock system. If you are using a passenger backrest, be sure to install that into the saddle first and lock it in with the supplied set-screw.
Corbin backrest does NOT work with Yamaha trunk installed.
Stitch pattern is required in the seating area of heated seats, photos coming soon.

Take good care of your new seat and the seat will take good care of you. Designed to help your leather saddle remain weather resistant and keeps the hide supple. This will allow the leather to break in and age gracefully. Great for boots, gloves & jackets too. Simple rub-in, buff out application. *More Info*
Our most popular backrest model is the perfect blend of form and function. The size looks visually appropriate on most every seat yet is large enough to provide good, sculpted support. Works well in either the rider's or passenger's position. The standard Ovalbac is available with a range of finishing plate options to dress up the rear including chrome! *More Info*
The standard Corbin backrest for years! This model is the same size and shape as the Standard Ovalbac above, but without the hole in the middle. Provides plenty of sculpted back support without looking too big on the bike. Works in both the rider or passenger seating area on virtually all Corbin saddle models. This model also has the option of chrome studs if desired. *More Info*
Like the Standard Ovalbac show above, but with a larger contact area for added support. Works great as a passenger backrest in Dual Touring models. Because of the added width, we do not recommend this model in the front position while carrying a passenger... it may interfere with their legs. Sculpted to provide wide ergonomic support. Offers a variety of finishing plate options to customize the rear (sorry, no chrome). *More Info*
This model is specially designed to be used in the large Dual Touring seats (like HD Baggers) or in Master's Type saddles as found on the Goldwings. Sculpted for extended support both vertically and horizontally, but cut away at the bottom to provide clearance for passenger's legs. A variety of finishing plate options are available to customize the rear. *More Info*
If you want the functionality of a backrest, but also want the smallest appearance possible, this is the backrest model for you. This one is most often used as a rider's backrest in Gunfighter seat models (thus the name). Includes a variety of finishing plate options for the rear. *More Info*
A convenient storage solution that looks great too. Corbin's Glove Box bolts up easily to your #02-S(B) model backrest in place of the rear finishing plate to provide four liters of locking storage. Available in primer or pre-painted. Some color matches are available depending on bike make and model. Comes fully lined too! *More Info*
