So what happened to the Hollister Independence Day Rally?

As of this date, there is no longer a city sanctioned event scheduled for the Fourth of July Weekend. It is a foregone conclusion the rally is gone for good. Looking on the bright side, we decided it doesn't matter and we're going to celebrate it anyway. It'll just be smaller and it won't be a rally.

The question of why is difficult to answer without sounding like so many sour grapes. Suffice to say the city council, acting on behalf of the citizens of Hollister, decided it was not fiscally responsible to continue to support the event. It is said costs associated with law enforcement, sanitation and traffic control put too big of a strain on an already weakened budget.

Now that doesn't mean that Hollister isn't still a fine destination for your weekend ride. There's great riding in all directions, good places to eat and lots of great places to relax and enjoy a warm summer afternoon. Besides, it IS the anniversary of The Wild One and Hollister IS the Birthplace of the American Biker!

We know a lot of folks will be coming to town on Fourth of July weekend... if for no other reason than to go out and get some air through your hair. As such, we'll be open Saturday during the weekend and would love for you to stop by and check out our workshop first hand. We're even going to supply the lunch for our early registrants and everyone gets a complimentary ride pin just for stopping by!

Thanks to all of you who have attended this great event in the past and especially to those who dropped by our factory.

Ride Safe and Ride Far!
