Greetings Friends!
It would appear the groundhog was correct and we're getting a bit
of extended winter. Although the weather has been cooperative out
in Daytona for Bike Week, here on the left coast Mother Nature is
letting us know there will be no danger of drought this year. Alright if you ride off road... no-so alright for street bikes.

* FEBRUARY WINNER
Since we didn't publish last week, it's time to draw a winner from
the hat for February! And the lucky recipient is:
Martin G. Matanic
OK Martin. Just send me an e-mail along with your snail mail
address and you've got yourself a $250 Corbin Gift Certificate. Send your response to Chuck@corbin.com and remember, if I don't
hear from you within two weeks, we'll pull a new winner.
* WINTER BLUES
So Chuck walks out to his truck this morning only to find that
some mischievous whelp has covered it in this funny white stuff. Upon further inspection, the powdery white blanket appears to be
made out of ice! Looking around I notice the house too is covered
as if the mystery substance has fallen from the very sky. Weird!
On my way to the office I note that the neighbor's house is also covered as are the mountains and roads. Methinks there's more to
this than some childish prank.
Naturally, when I got to the office I though it prudent to further
investigate this phenomenon via the internet. As it turns out, the
baffling material is called "snow". Here's the really odd part...
Did you know that in some places in the world this "snow" falls
from the sky often?! Weird!
NOTE: Yes, it really did snow in Hollister. Yes, snow in Hollister
is VERY rare. Yes, I do know what snow is.
* CORBIN'S RIDE-ON
Now in our sixth season on the Speed Channel! To put this in perspective, that's the same number of seasons that Sanford & Son
was on TV. Two more seasons than Knight Rider and three more than
Gilligan's Island. Think about it!
OK given... being on Speed isn't exactly like being on the BIG networks, but you've got to admit there must be something to it. Check it out every Tuesday night! For a complete schedule click
on over to: http://www.rideontv.com
* DA NEW GUYS
It seems like only yesterday that I was writing about our new
National Sales Manager Pete. Unfortunately for us, after a couple
of months, Pete decided that the commute from Los Angeles to Hollister was a bit much and he could not relocate. Bummer!
On the bright side, Pete gave us a recommendation for a replacement
and we are happy to welcome Dan Spellman as our new Sales Manager.
Dan's an avid motorcyclist and comes to us via Fairchild Motor-
sports where he worked with Pete. Helping with the workload is our
new office manager Janice Alosi who's been a Corbinite for several
years now. Congrats to the both of you!
* A WORTHY ENDEAVOR
One of our loyal readers, Stan Miller, is organizing the "Give Your
Heart to Kids Ride". Scheduled to take place on June 10th in the San Diego area, this fund raiser of the motorcycle kind will benefit the San Diego Child Abuse Prevention Foundation. Stan is
working closely with Channel 8 KFMB (where he happens to be a news
anchor) to promote the ride and assure its success. Thanks for putting your time and effort into a worthy cause Stan.
For all of you that would like to explore the SD countryside and
rally together near Del Mar, you can find more information here:

* RALLY SCHEDULE
Bike week is drawing to a close even as I write this. You're next
opportunity to meet up with the Corbin road crew will be at:
Laughlin River Run
Laughlin, NV
April 26 - 30, 2006
* L8-R DAZE
Alright, I've got to go figure out how I'm going to clean up all
this silly snow stuff so that's it for this week. Keep the Corbin
side up, stay dry and we'll talk to ya soon!
Happy Trails,
Chuck
