We are extremely proud to present our new Bugatti style tail section for the Rune. This is such a radical departure from anything else we've seen, we had a hard time figuring out what we were going to call it. You may have already seen this on our daily news or around the internet referred to as a Bugatti tail... Well, although it's true we borrowed some styling cues from the famous automotive marquee, the design is truly all Corbin. Likewise, since it offers a built in storage compartment we thought that it fit in with our Smuggler line rather nicely. So there you have it... an executive decision has been made and we proudly announce our new Bugatti styled Smuggler Trunk for the Honda Rune.
We built this model to replace your existing Rune fender and compliment the lines of the bike with a graceful flowing look. Of course, it is engineered to work with the full line of Corbin saddles available for the big cruiser as well as your stock seat if you prefer. We've also worked the stock Honda tail lamps into the design because they are so much a part of the character of your Rune (and a very nice piece of work). The sculptured lines of the Smuggler have a dynamic yet nostalgic appearance that words can't do justice.
Corbin's Smuggler comes pre-painted to coordinate with the stock paint scheme on your bike so it's ready for immediate installation (Due to the cost of the materials, there is an upcharge for "Illusion" color paints). Installation of the Smuggler is fairly simple with all required components included. There are no frame modifications involved or other complex procedures, but it will take a little patience to install. The Smuggler comes to you complete with trunklid, weather stripping, Billet LED turn signals, new license plate frame and key lock system. Again, the vertical running lights come from your stock Rune fender.
Inside, Corbin's Smuggler is fully lined to protect your cargo. As you can see we've built in a special section for organizing small items like glasses and cell phones right at the top. There's plenty of storage to take along a weekends worth of gear, but keep in mind when you're looking at these pictures that we've had to build it around tire clearances too. Items are best packed individually to maximize the amount of space you can fill up due to the irregular shape of the cargo area. The entire opening is protected by a sure seal weather stripping to keep items dry if you get stuck in the rain, but we don't recommend pressure washing your Smuggler trunk (of course). Smuggler door is held up with a built in prop rod.
Constructed of our durable Fibertech material and hand laid for guaranteed quality. Finished in gel-coat and then hand painted for a perfect finish. Naturally we paint it to coordinate with your stock color scheme so they're ready to mount right out of the box. This is also a very good view of the custom billet aluminum turn signals and license plate frame that come included with your Rune Smuggler. Both items use bright LED lighting and wire into your existing wiring harness (complete instructions included). Polished billet aluminum provides a very high end look and long term durability.
Overall the appearance of the Corbin Smuggler on the Rune gives a very distinct look to an already distinct motorcycle. As mentioned before you can use a variety of saddle models along with the Corbin Smuggler tail although a Dual saddle may limit the travel of the Smuggler door. Like all Corbin Smuggler and saddlebag designs, the Rune model opens on top and hinges forward to assure that contents won't spill out when opened. Key lock is built in and operated by remote to keep an exceptionally clean look to the fender / trunk combo.
