Corbin Beetle Bags are designed to fit specific bike models so they're visually integrated to look awesome! Notice how the Corbin bags mimic the shape of the fuel tank and follow the graceful line of the fender. This helps the bags actually enhance the look of the bike rather than just being an add-on. We also design our saddlebags to fit close to the profile of the Street Rod for improved weight handling and aerodynamic efficiency. As you can see, the integrated shape adds to the Hot Rod look and is visually far cleaner than "one shape fits all" style hard luggage.
Since the interior wall fits so closely, we can keep the saddlebags narrow and carry the shape around the rear fender. This keeps weight bearing close to the centerline of the bike which helps to maintain a good center of gravity. When loaded properly, you won't even know they're back there while you're riding and the bike remains stable at all speeds. These bags were designed by the same guys that ran Suzuki Hayabusa saddlebags over 180 mph on the Bonneville Salt Flats.
Both bags feature top loading so contents can't spill out when opened and they will self close in the wind if forgotten. We mold the bags close around the fender for a clean look and proper load bearing. This allows the bags to carry weight in near the centerline where it won't upset your balance. This design also keeps a narrower profile for less width to worry about when lane splitting. Our design team shaped these bags to work with your stock exhaust system, but they will work equally well with any system that has a profile lower than the stock pipe.
Corbin Beetle Bags mold around the passenger's legs to maximize capacity without creating an overbearing look on your sleek machine. We are often asked if a full-face helmet will fit inside our bags and we're sorry to say "it will not." Creating a set of bags with enough width to hold a full face helmet, would have made them extremely wide which would make them unstable at higher speeds. However, their 27.5-liter capacity (per side) will provide plenty of room for weekend getaways and daily commutes.
Corbin Beetle bags are contructed of our exclusive Fibertech material for a perfect finish and long term durability. They are available in gel coat ready for your painter's preparation or for a little extra we can provide them prepainted and ready to install right out of the box. Available painted in one solid color (PPG matched to factory paint) or in two tone like we show here. Regardless, the end result is a set of bags whose form is as perfected as their function.
Both bags come completely lined to protect your cargo and feature locking doors for security. Molded to fit perfect with your stock turn signals so there's no wiring to be concerned with. Sure seal weather stripping and adjustable lock keeps them watertight. Saddlebag lids are molded using our new RTM (Resin Transer Molding) process so they're more rigid and finished on both sides to look nicer open or closed.
Beetlebags are engineered to work with the Sissy Bar / Passenger Backrest baseplate available from Harley-Davidson! Naturally there are Corbin seats available that look great and provide the comfort you need to be able to take advantage of the touring capacity allowed by the Corbin saddlebags. Corbin offers a modular seat design in two pieces that consists of two different solo seat models, to rear seat designs and a Smuggler trunk that bolts on in place of the passenger seat.
